President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud joined hundreds of citizens participating in national celebrations ahead of Somalia’s National Independence and Unity Day, emphasizing the importance of unity and social cohesion in building a peaceful and prosperous nation.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, the President praised the unity, solidarity, and peaceful spirit displayed by young people, describing their commitment as a strong foundation for safeguarding Somalia’s stability and accelerating national development.
He urged all Somalis to strengthen national unity, calling on citizens to “unite our minds, our strength, and our collective resolve to safeguard our hard-earned gains and together achieve the lasting prosperity we aspire to.
“The President’s remarks came as Somalis across the country prepare to commemorate National Independence and Unity Day, a celebration of the nation’s sovereignty and shared aspirations for peace, stability, and development.
