Ghana is set to launch its first electronic visa (e-Visa) system next week in a move aimed at simplifying travel for tourists, business visitors, and investors.

According to reports, President John Mahama is expected to officially unveil the digital platform on Africa Day, May 25.

The new system will allow travelers to apply for visas online, replacing traditional paper-based application processes. Officials say the initiative is designed to make travel to Ghana faster, more efficient, and more accessible for international visitors.

Under the new policy, travelers from African countries will also be exempt from visa fees, a step the government says is intended to strengthen regional integration and encourage intra-African travel and business.

Authorities believe the e-Visa system will help boost tourism, increase trade opportunities, and attract more foreign investment as Ghana continues efforts to modernize its immigration and travel services.
