CEELDHEER, Somalia – Defence Minister Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, accompanied by the Commander of the Somali National Armed Forces (SNA), Major General Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud, arrived in Ceeldheer District in the Galgaduud Region on Sunday to visit troops deployed on the frontlines.
During the visit, the delegation assessed the operational situation and the welfare of soldiers engaged in ongoing military operations. The Defence Minister and the SNA Commander commended the troops for their courage, sacrifice, and steadfast commitment to defending the nation and combating terrorist groups.
The two officials urged the soldiers to intensify ongoing operations, maintain a high level of vigilance, strengthen cooperation with local communities, and sustain efforts to eliminate terrorist groups until lasting peace and security are achieved across Somalia.
Major General Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud praised the troops for their bravery, resilience, and recent operational successes. He encouraged them to preserve their unity, remain vigilant, and build on the momentum of current operations, reaffirming the Somali National Armed Forces’ commitment to defeating terrorism and safeguarding the country’s security.
The visit forms part of the Ministry of Defence and the Somali National Armed Forces’ ongoing efforts to boost troop morale, assess frontline operations, and accelerate the military campaign to liberate areas where terrorist groups continue to operate.
The delegation also included the Commander of the Somali National Armed Forces Support Command, Major General Mohamed Mahmoud Hussein (Garabey), along with other senior SNA officers.
