MOGADISHU – Somalia’s election talks entered their second day on Thursday, with technical representatives from the Federal Government and the opposition’s Somali Future Council continuing negotiations under the joint mediation of Türkiye and international partners.
The closed-door discussions are focused on narrowing differences over the country’s electoral process and establishing a framework for broader political dialogue aimed at resolving the ongoing electoral impasse.
The technical meeting brings together delegates from both sides as mediators seek to build consensus on key electoral issues before they are presented to political leaders for further consideration.
The talks are being closely watched by domestic and international stakeholders, who have urged Somali leaders to reach an inclusive agreement that will pave the way for credible elections and strengthen political stability.
No official statement has yet been issued on the progress of the second day of negotiations.
