The agreement was signed in Rabat during a meeting between Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, Minister Delegate for National Defense Abdellatif Loudiyi, and Nikolay Mladenov, the High Representative of the Peace Council in Gaza, who led a senior delegation that included officials of the Peace Council and the commander of the International Stabilization Force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting, held under the leadership of King Mohammed VI in his capacity as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, also brought together senior military officials from the Royal Armed Forces and the Royal Gendarmerie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Morocco’s participation is anchored in the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803<\/strong>, which established the legal framework for the Peace Council and authorized the International Stabilization Force as part of a broader plan to end the conflict and support Gaza’s transition. The resolution gives the Peace Council authority over humanitarian aid coordination, reconstruction, disarmament, and efforts to create conditions for lasting peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Under the agreement, Morocco will deploy senior officers from the Royal Armed Forces to the force’s joint command, while personnel from the Royal Gendarmerie and the General Directorate of National Security will also take part in the mission. The Kingdom will additionally establish a field hospital to provide medical care for civilians in Gaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Officials said Morocco’s contribution combines security, humanitarian, and medical assistance, reflecting the country’s belief that sustainable reconstruction depends on restoring security, protecting civilians, and ensuring access to essential healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The move builds on Morocco’s longstanding support for the Palestinian cause.
